Update March 31, 2009

I have been putting together a Satelites promo for their upcoming demo using the Slow motion love electric version. I have also filmed these guys doing really random things for the new song Theo made and put up on Myspace (single gentlemen) if you haven't heard it you should go listen to it. I apologize for the late updates and such. We actually have a busy week for Satelites and Skyboy. Wednesday is a Photoshoot at Walnut studio, Thursday is a important meeting, Friday is a day setup so fans can pick up tickets for the Satlitets' Gig coming up at Kathedral. We actually sold all the tickets we had and Theo is going to pick up more today, for Friday so if you don't have tickets and you want to go get a hold of us and get you TICKETS!!! Last night I finally got one of the songs A12T made that I have wanted for so long (it sounds so sick, keep making those beats) For now you can enjoi some of these raw shots that Syd took from the last photo shoot.

I have skated with Morgan many times before when he's in Toronto, he's a really cool guy. He has so many tricks and one time he told me to just keep practicing. So I am haha

The Man who got me to start skateboarding and one of the first Skate Vids I ever saw, I think the first one was an oldschool Birdhouse vid. The first transworld I picked up had him on the cover, but what drew me to the cover was the photo it was to amazing and I was really into Photography at the time.

well I hoped you enjoyed that very long post, I have more fav skaters but thats another list. Skateboarding brought me back into the visual media, they work hand in hand. Without skateboarding I dont think I would have picked up a Video camera again so im very thankful for all the doors it has opened up for me. Skating with a community is also so amazing, you get to meet so many different people with your interests and you can see how even though your just skating there is so much individuality still. There is an infinite amount of possibilities in skateboarding, I know that im going to be learning for the rest of my Life.

Update March 20, 2009

Just a reminder to everyone that Tickets for the Satelites are going fast so get yours today. I am actually editing the photoshoot video and decided to put a little more work into it so instead of releasing it today i'll put it out tomorrow or saturday. For now enjoy this pic that was taken that night. Edited by Syd and Arthur. I was also at Skyboy studio last night and I got to hear one of the new songs they were working on and I was totally blown away by the Skyboy side of Theo. I realized how much Theo has grown at writing lyrics. If you guys heard this song you would be as hyped as I am for it. We are currently working for content for a new myspace we are creating for Skyboy so watch out for that in the near future.

Riff from the past

Satelites and Skyboy just recently had a photo shoot courtesy of Syd Belen of AWAAWE Photography. I did get a chance to film it so I will edit it and get that vid up hopefully for this weekend. So for now enjoy these pics for now, I'll release a couple more when I get the vid up. I don't want to spoil the creamy goodness just yet.

Satelites' timeline part 4

If you are only joining us now, please click the Satelites timeline tag to see all previous posts before continuing.

We awoke the next day to get everything ready for the journey home. Some of us went into town to grab breakfast while others stayed and cooked. We all took in as much as we can of the environment, reminiscing  of the days that have just passed. We were sad to leave but we knew we could come back. This was my 5th time coming back to Serge's cottage and everytime is always a better experience than the last. Last year different people came but it still was a good time. Hiram got to experience Theo's singing that time and asked him to autograph his chest. 

We packed up all the cars and got ready for the road ride ahead. Allen said he wanted to go back to the river bed again to take pics a year from then to see how far they have come. If they only knew of all the good things to come their way in just the next couple months.

After returning home to Toronto, Satelites immediately got straight to work. Within the next couple weeks before September, Arthur and Theo recorded the acoustic renditions of their songs that can now be heard on their my space. 

To me this is the first notch in the Satelites' timeline

Randomness , going around youtube

Well I guess i'll make this the first of many youtube vids i'll put a label on. I will be posting at least one vid a week that I find very interesting on youtube. The one that I found today was really amazing, it reminded me of a movie I have Titiled Requiem for a dream.

After watching this video I then added it to my favourites and then suscribed. I went to Jr0canest's channel and I also saw this vid which is actually very inspiring not only to film makers but to everyone. I am going to show this vid to the Satelites' and Skyboy's. this is the kind of work that I myself would love to be doing. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have

Satelites' timeline part 3

If you are just joining us and you haven't read part 1 or 2 please do so by clicking the Satelites timeline label to see all the other parts.

As we left the skate park and was heading back to Serge's cottage, Allen spoted a way down into a drying riverbed area. He asked if I could pull over so that they could scope it out. I ended up parking at a future site of a concrete skatepark that they were building in the area. We walked down into the river bed and took a bunch of pics. It was there in that moment these guys were discussing where they would be with the band the next time they come back to that spot. After filming and capturing videos at that spot we decided to head back to the cottage.

We stopped by a Tim hortons before going back to the cottage. The cashier saw that Theo was carrying a guitar and asked if we were a band. He humbly said that he was and that they should keep an eye out for Satelites in the near future. That night was the last night at the cottage  and we all partied and feasted like it was the last night there. We had a guitar hero competition on Serge's PS2 and it was pure fun with everyone being so drunk.

Richard made some of the best Korean BBQ we have ever tasted. Everyone gathered around the fire to share many many laughs. Slowly one by one as the night grew longer everyone started to knock out.

We would soon awake for the journey home the next day.

Update March 11, 2009

I have just got home from the Satelites' rehearsal for today. I have never been so lost in the music until tonight (and they were just practicing). Their live sound is so amazing, what amazes me really is that they can create music that moves you to your very core. Im really excited to hear them again today with all the rest of the crowd. Well im going to catch some sleep so I can get some work done later. More updates later

Update March 10, 2009

Tomorrow is another one of Satelites' performances so make your way down to Golden Valley's at 11 am and you will also get to see a filipino celeb Toni Gonzaga. The past week has been a bit hectic getting these guys to practice. Tonight is their rehearsal so just be a little more patient. I have also realized that the blog has reached over 1000 hits (thank you) it lets me know that im not blogging to no one haha. I have also planned a little more structure into the blog. Mondays have memorabilia, Tuesdays have Top 5, Wednesday has the Satelites' timline, Thursday have Blast from the past clips, Fridays have Exclusive clips and on the weekend is in the studio split into parts. More things to come. Enjoy

Update March 5, 2009

OK so I only have had two hours of sleep so I haven't got to upload any vids today. Alot of things have been coming together in the past couple days (today and yesterday) very inspiring and motivating things. Art and I had a conversation from 1 am to almost 5 am this morning (very amazing things were discussed) and after I woke up (which was at 7am) and did all my errands I headed over to Xillionaire's place and had a similar conversation. I wish I could have recorded our conversations (so motivational, I was high on emotions thats how motivational) one thing I will repeat is this "The time is NOW" it was written on Art's arm (im guessing soon to be tattooed). But yea in other news March 11, 2009 we need all you rabid fans to come and support Satelites at Golden Valley's at 11am. Also an HD version of Sway is on the way, and it sounds amazing so just be a little patient for that, oh oh and a medley is in the works so watch out for that too. For now keep watching their vids and rate and comment and tell people to tell people to tell people about Satelites. Thank you and Enjoy

A Satelites' timeline part 2

Please read part 1 if you haven't already (and I am trying to do this every wednesday if I have time so please be patient, too much video editing makes me tired :P)

Slowly everyone woke to the cloudy morning, and Allen, Theo, and Art prepared breakfast. Some of the guys who were sleeping when we came greeted us.

 After everyone was settling down with their breakfast the Satelites announced their official name to all the guys. They had just thought of the name the week before cottage but kept it to themselves until they were sure thats the name they would go with. With all the congrats taken in from the guys, The Satelites decided to practice some of the songs they had put together. 

With a full day ahead of us to enjoy the country air we decided to run some cottage basketball. After a couple games some of the guys decided to go fishing. The Satelites and I decided to go check out a couple of the skateparks around the area.

The second skatepark we went to was maybe about 20-25 minutes away from Serge's cottage. It was by a small river. We chilled around the area filming and taking pics. Allen and I skated around the park as Theo played the guitar and Art filming everyone. 

After a couple hours of being in the sun we decided to grab some ice caps at Tim Hortons and head back to the cottage.

Update March 4, 2009

There should have been two new HD vids today but youtube decided to be gay for today (some of you might have seen a 27 sec. clip of this, this morning but I deleted it because that was only part of the clip) so hopefully by tonight or tomorrow they will be up. In other news Allen's drum set has been returned to their practice location after a short recording session at Skyboy studio. These guys are working on a Demo and a couple remixes (a teaser is in the vid that will be up soon). March 11, 2009 at 11 am the Satelites will have a performance at Golden Valley's to try and impress a talent scout from ABS-CBN which for those who don't know is a network of asian  media companies. The Satelites are trying their best to be prepared to wow the talent scout and a couple Filipino celebraties (Toni Gonzaga for those who know who she is) so they can embark on an Asia tour. Also I have recorded a full electric set of their playlist so watch out for another medley in HD. For now you guys can enjoy some more pics.

Skateboarding Randomness

Well when I got home today I went onto youtube to see what was new, and right on the home page I saw this video on how to play skate 2 (which is a game I play daily :P) in 3D. So I watched the vid and tried it out for myself. The image on the TV was like those red and blue 3D images. Luckily for me I had a pair of 3D glasses from my 21st bday. I ended up playing skate 2 in 3D for like half an hour. After wearing those glasses for a while everything looks blue and red. Everyone who likes video games and has never played in 3D should try it, it's so sick.
